Looking for a fun patriotic activity and snack for this Fourth of July? Look no further than this great twist on a popsicle treat. The best part? No sticky ice cream melting down your hands in crazy Arkansas summer temps!
Ingredients:
12 pre-packaged marshmallow treats
3 cups of candy melts in red, blue and white
12 popsicle sticks
1 cup of star-shaped sprinkles
Parchment paper
Directions:
Push a popsicle stick into each rice krispy treat.
Place each color of candy melt in a bowl. Microwave each bowl in 30 second increments or until candy is melted. Stir until smooth.
Dip each treat into the red, white or blue candy melts. Add sprinkles and set on parchment paper.
Let set until dry, then serve.
TIPS
Learn from me, there is a reason for the 30 second increments when melting chocolate. Burned candy isn’t appetizing. If you don’t get to this snack in time for the holiday, do what parents do best and adapt. Change out the candle melt colors for those of the season to take out the patriotic look. Putting the popsicle sticks in first will help keep little fingers off the treat your guests are to eat and will prevent their hands from getting more melted goodness all over them!
